Key Metals Terms
At Key Metals, our committment to service has taught us something very important. What makes a company great to do business with is knowing that you will receive exactly the product that you ordered. What makes a company truly exceptional is knowing that if a mistake is made that they are committed to getting you a replacement fast with no questions asked. Here are some of our policies below.
Any requests for material mill certifications must be made at the time an order is quoted or placed. We can not guarantee that certifications will be available after an order has already been placed and may only be able to offer certificates of compliance in those instances.
Any Acceptance of a Purchase Order, whether acceptance is deemed by any manner including but not limited to receipt of payment, confirmation, receipt, commencement of any work, fulfillment or delivery of any or all goods, shall NOT constitute ANY acceptance or agreement to any terms or agreement not expressly stated on/attached to Purchase Order or agreed to by both parties prior to issuance of any Purchase Order. Any terms or agreement not specifically stated, whether hyperlinked to, referenced to or elsewhere posted, shall be deemed material and are objected to and rejected, including but not limited to maintenance or availability of any records of traceability, heats, mill certifications or test reports, etc.
When you place an order with us, we get moving on it fast! This ensures that you receive your order as soon as possible. Unfortunately, because products are cut to your specifications, once an order is placed, it can not be cancelled, returned, or exchanged. Incorrect material will be subject to immediate replacement of the non-conforming product only; no refunds or credits can be issued. Some standard size materials such as drill rod and precision ground flat stock items may be returnable with prior authorization and subject to a 25-40% restocking fee if the material is returned in original, resellable condition. Non-stock and special order items are not returnable, cancellable or refundable.
Lost or Delayed Shipments
Occasionally a customer may experience a delay in receiving an order after we have shipped it out. This has occurred in the past due to various reasons including damage, lost or mis-sorted packages by UPS etc. When this happens we will notify the carrier to open an investigation to get the package back into transit. We understand that many orders are very time sensitive so in these situations we can usually ship replacement items. When this is done you will be charged again for the replacement material. If original shipment was lost then UPS will issue us a claim and you will receive a refund for the replacement. If the original shipment is located and delivered after a replacement has been shipped then we will email you a return shipping label to return the original shipment to us. Once we receive the original shipment back then you will receive a refund for the replacement.
All quotations made by Key Metals, unless otherwise noted, are for immediate acceptance and are subject to change without notice, including pricing and/or lead times.
We offer the following shipping methods:
- Local delivery to customers in the Chicago area on our trucks
- Will call pick up at our Chicago warehouse
- Freight prepay and add
- FOB Chicago through your freight arrangement
If shipped using your UPS account, we will only add insurance at your request. If shipped UPS prepaid, we will insure if value is $200 or greater.
Key Metals warrants that all material sold to Buyer shall conform to the description stated herein subject to tolerances and variations consistent with standard trade practices. Key Metals shall have no liability for consequential or incidental damages including, but not limited to, damages arising from labor expenses, inconvenience, loss of time or other loss, and in no event shall be liable for damages above the purchase price of the material.
